About Samantha Duroska
Hi there, I’m Sammy, a Clinical Psychologist and a board approved Supervisor. I help individuals overcome mental health challenges such as anxiety, trauma, and PTSD.
In therapy, my goal is to make you feel seen and heard. Clients have described me as calm, compassionate, and direct. Based on the feedback I’ve received, you might find some of our sessions more intense than expected, but you’ll also leave with a stronger sense of self-worth. I’ll be here to support you as we work together to reach your goals, trusting the process and exploring what’s right for you. While I may not always have all the answers right away, I’ll do my best to guide and challenge you, offering support when you need it most.
My experience in trauma therapy has helped me understand how to reprocess emotions and create new paths forward. This approach is helpful not just for PTSD, but also for a wide range of experiences and mental health struggles. I focus primarily on anxiety and trauma, including issues like bullying, stress, adjustment difficulties, panic, phobias, OCD, and childhood neglect or abuse.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies like CBT and IRRT. I believe in keeping things simple and speaking in clear, straightforward language.
I trained at several universities in Europe and at a CBT institute in Germany. After working in various hospital settings, I founded a private practice there to provide long-term support to my clients. Eventually, my Australian partner and I decided to move to Melbourne and more recently, to his hometown of Coffs Harbour.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors and exploring the beautiful beaches around Coffs Harbour. I’m currently giving surfing a try! I miss good German bread, so I’ve been working on my baking skills, and I’m always experimenting with new vegetarian recipes. When I’m not outside or in the kitchen, you’ll likely find me reading some good fiction and getting lost in a great story.
I offer therapy and supervision in both German and English, and I provide sessions in person or online.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward feeling better and finding new ways forward, I’d love to hear from you.
Leave a message or send me an email today to schedule a consultation.
Behind the scenes: I trained as a Clinical Psychologist in Europe and now I enjoy practising in beautiful Australia.
